About CarShareYork.com

CarshareYork is the only dedicated car sharing site for the York area and is part of the nationally acclaimed Liftshare.com network. The site was set up as a partnership between City of York Council and other key employers in the city such as York Hospital, the University of York and York St John University.

CarshareYork was created to try and address the problems of congestion and pollution in the York area by reducing the numbers of cars on our roads.

CarshareYork not only provides employers with a greener commuting solution for their staff it is also open to members of the public who can find car share matches for all types of journeys whether a regular commute or a one-off trip.

If every car driver in York substituted just two car trips a week for another way of travelling, this would reduce the number of journeys on our roads by more than 10 per cent.

The site is completely FREE to use, is designed for both drivers and passengers, and has been set up to make it as easy as possible for you to find a potential match for your journey.

The more people that sign up and register a journey, the more chances there are of finding a potential match - so please encourage others to do likewise and tell a friend.
